Co-Parenting Classes

What are Co-Parenting Classes?

When divorced or separated parents are raising their children separately, co-parenting classes can be extremely beneficial. When a marriage or partnership ends, children must navigate the worlds of two single parents, each with their own set of rules, styles, and expectations. Divorce is difficult for both parents and children. The most important factor in raising secure, healthy children is having parents who have formed a strong parental partnership.  Co-parenting classes can help divorced parents do just that.

Benefits of Taking Co-Parenting Classes

Everyone is likely overwhelmed and under stress during a divorce. Co-parenting classes can teach you how to deal with stress and the realities of co-parenting as a single parent.

These classes can help you establish consistency and stability for your kids. Everyone will feel more peaceful and accepting of the new changes.

Parents learn how to maintain a positive relationship with one another in order to reduce conflict in communication and decision-making. When this occurs, children will feel less trapped in the middle and more a part of a cohesive unit.

You can develop and implement a discipline plan that is fair to everyone and does not create a negative experience with your co-parent using the tools and skills learned in class. You'll be operating from a sense of shared parenting goals for your children's growth in discipline as well as every other aspect of your lives.

Co-parenting classes allow you to come together for your child. Your communication will be more positive, you’ll be equipped to handle inevitable conflicts, you’ll be able to compromise and experience a give-and-take relationship, and you’ll be able to see the big picture of your children’s needs and wellbeing.
